Rare set of knife holders, underside and bottle bottom of molded glass lined with mirror bottom, rose gold hue, elegant square shape with two oblique slits. Brown velvet box. Edited by stylclair / marcel michaud, most likely in collaboration with the saint-gobain glassworks. Stylclair is a lyon broadcaster - with relays in paris - of luxury furniture that has collaborated with designers such as marcel breuer, alvar aalto or le corbusier. Stylclair's glass productions - both table tops and mirrors - are a priori still carried out by the saint-gobain glassworks, which was also able to produce very similar mirror bottom pieces during the 30s. References: artcurial sales catalogue 13 & 14 october 2008, leclere sales catalogue 20 january 2017. No similar set is listed in the auction room, price based on comparable productions of this house. Knife holder (8): 2 X 8 cm. Bottle holder (2): 11.5 X 11.5 cm. Large underside: 24 X 24 cm. 3.5 kg in total. Very good overall condition. Two tiny ginnings on the knife holders, very rare scratches and some traces of oxidation on the mirrors (very low wear of use given the material).
