XL Gilt Coffee Table, Italy, 1970's, by Giovanni Banci for Hermes

Well proportioned and well crafted, this square coffee table in neoclassical design is a sheer delight to look at. Designed in Italy by Giovanni Banci for Hermes in the 1970's, the focal point of this table are the x-shaped struts, held in place by a floating ring all made of gold-colored, patinated metal. The table comes with a clear glass table top and is in good stable condition. The frame shows great patina and the gilt has lost its shine in places giving this piece an authentic vintage look. Thanks to its classically reduced almost rustic look this table will fit with most interior styles whether it is placed in a villa in Tuscany or in an industrial loft apartment in New York!.
