Set of six Art Deco dining chairs, circa 1930.
✨️ Elegant and characterised, this series of six 1930s display chairs perfectly embodies the craftsmanship and geometric precision of the Art Deco period. ✨️ Openwork structure formed by two straight vertical uprights connected by a discreetly chamfered rectangular top rail. A horizontally curved central bar, centred with a circular cabochon sculpted in relief as a rosette (medallion/macaron motif), resonates stylistically with the sideboards of the same period. ✨️ Trapezoidal seat with a bowl shape, upholstered in original tawny faux leather or leather. The upholstery is highlighted around the entire perimeter with a piped trim featuring visible studs, ensuring an aesthetic finish on the belt. ✨️ Front legs: Tapered square section towards the bottom, creating a pronounced sabre profile. The leg heads are adorned with horizontally carved flutes in a double ring, affirming the quality of the cabinetmaking. ✨️ Rear legs: Natural extension of the back uprights, slightly tapered towards the back to balance the line and ensure optimal stability. Small tear on the leather of one chair, and a small tear on the wood of another, visible in the photos.
