Square farmhouse table in solid oak

Old small farmhouse table (which likely served as a desk) made of solid oak, from the Directoire period. Very beautiful period patina on which we chose not to intervene, except for the top which has been waxed. Numerous signs of use related to its age that add to its charm. Drawer with a ring-shaped handle. The latter retains the memory of its past with a palimpsest of ink stains. The legs are turned and the top is made from a rather rough assembly of planks (some are slightly disjointed). The left rear leg has suffered a crack at the joint which has been stabilised and filled with wax. The whole is solid and rustic. The object is simple and modest; it is this that gives it its irresistible appeal. Dimensions: 66 X 70.5 X 66.5 cm.
