Yellow woman - original lithograph, hand signed - ea - andre minaux. Dim white edges 38 X 29 cm. Dim pattern woman 19 x12 cm. André minaux, born to a lorraine father, a fabric merchant and decorator1, and a provençal mother, completed his secondary education at the jesuit college on rue de madrid in paris2. He was introduced to art by his father who took him to exhibitions and with whom he painted on sundays. In 1940, minaux entered the école des arts décoratifs where he was a pupil of maurice brianchon "who appreciated his gifts"1 and roland oudot. In 1945, he completed his military service in avignon where the discovery of provençal light, particularly through the painting of andré marchand, marked his pictorial sensitivity3. He married hélène benoît in 1947, the year that marked the beginning of his artistic career.
