A very rare bronze sculpture of a draped woman. Depicting a dancer in pure Art Deco style. A beautiful posture with an arm extended towards the sky holding a draped fabric. The piece is made of bronze with a lovely nuanced green-grey patina. It rests on a portor marble base. Signed in the marble "Phillips," the pseudonym of Paul Philippe (1870-1930)...! And "bronze" on the statue. An old edition casting, around 1930. A superb and extremely rare piece created for the luxury shops of the time. (A similar model is available for sale bearing the "Ovington" stamp, a famous importer of luxury items of the time "Ovington Brothers"). For information, the last photo shows an identical model signed "Paul Philippe" and sold at auction, and therefore is not part of the lot. 54 cm high. 25 cm long. 13 cm wide. 9 kg weight.
