Rare trumeau in lacquered and gilded wood and stucco. In the upper part, a fixed under glass (painting on the back of the glass) depicts a well-known gallant scene: that of a man who disguised himself as a monk to meet his beloved while an accomplice watches the surroundings in case the young girl's father makes an untimely arrival... The mirror is framed by two twisted half-columns in gilded wood on a green background. Some marks of time visible in the photos, in particular some wear on the tin of the mercury mirror. Period early 19th century dimensions: 88cm X 59cm.
