Pirkka bench - Ilmari Tapiovaara - 1950

The iconic Pirkka bench model by Scandinavian designer Ilmari Tapiovaara, produced in the 1950s by the Finnish company Laukaan Puu. The legs are made of black lacquered solid birch, and the seat is made of stained and satin-finished solid pine. These shapes are inspired by Scandinavian vernacular furniture.
