Vintage kokeshi by takahashi hashime / 37.5 cm

Very beautiful male kokeshi in a kimono decorated with autumn leaves, sporting a colocynth (sake) at the belt, entitled “happiness (ko raku / 幸楽), made by takahashi hashime (1918-2002), he is originally from sendai and firstly was a fine arts painter then a kimono artisan. He has won several awards as a master in the art of kokeshi, including the prime minister's prize. The colocynth link is partly worn (see photo).
