Designed by Luisa and Ico Parisi for MIM Roma in 1958, this executive desk from the Terni series is a milestone of mid-century Italian design. The Parisis, celebrated for their architectural approach to furniture, brought remarkable precision and elegance to this piece — and MIM Roma, one of the most respected Italian manufacturers of the time, executed it to an exceptional standard. The rectangular top in warm-toned African rosewood appears to float above a sculptural X-base, whose open structure creates a sense of lightness despite the desk's imposing presence. Brushed aluminium details — on the drawers and as caps on the legs — add a refined industrial touch that is consistent throughout. Storage is thoughtfully designed: a double-sided extendable drawer unit is located on the left, easily interchangeable to the right if desired, while two shallow drawers are discreetly integrated beneath the top. A truly unique, elegant, and refined collector's piece. In perfect original condition, it bears the manufacturer's label inside two drawers and on one of the legs. Designer: Luisa and Ico Parisi.
