Mid-Century Modern "The Loom" Vintage Swedish Oil Painting, Figure in an Interior

The loom. Size: 52 X 79 cm (including frame) Oil on card. A wonderfully executed expressionist mid-century composition of an interior setting, painted in oil onto card. The painting centres around a woman seated at loom, engrossed in the act of weaving. She has her back towards us, and it is as if we have, unbeknownst to her, stepped into this room to watch her work. There is a homeliness to the pictured interior, which has various objects in it. It also has a window where we get a glimpse of a beautiful nature landscape that the room looks out onto. We get a sense that this craft room is where the lady in the picture spends a lot of her time, creating wonderful pieces of work. The painting has a sketch-like quality, as the artist has skilfully used loose and unrestrained brushstrokes combined with distinctive outlines that evoke a sense of movement and spontaneity, capturing a fleeting moment in time. This oil on card is housed in a complementary frame with an inner gilt window. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has minor scuffing.
