This Arne Jacobsen armchair from the Series 7 by Fritz Hansen, model 3207, was designed in 1955 and is available here. The seat shell is made of laminated and steam-pressed teak veneer, which Jacobsen shaped into a flowing, single-piece form. The armrests and shell are made from the same material and transition into one another without a visible seam. The four-legged steel frame is slender in its dimensions and fitted with black plastic glides. At 61 cm wide, the chair supports the body without additional upholstery, as the shell form absorbs the natural body curve. As a Mid-Century armchair, the 3207 is equally suited at the dining table and as a side chair in a study or living room. In a Berlin period flat, it pairs with dark wooden tables from the post-war era as readily as with modern surfaces in oak or marble. Finding three chairs of the same model and the same age as a complete set is rare. Age-appropriate wear marks are present on the armrests.
