This elegant dining bench and set of armchairs come from the refined modern design culture of Vienna-Budapest from the interwar period and are attributed to Kozma Lajos. Made from solid American black walnut, the set features well-balanced proportions, gently curved armrests, subtly flared legs, and vertically segmented, slightly rounded backrests, reflecting a clear architectural interior approach. A key and rare feature is the exceptional survival of the ORIGINAL UPHOLSTERY and ORIGINAL seat cushions. The seating surfaces are supported by original Viennese cane work (Wiener Geflecht). The bench retains its fully original cane seat, while the armchair has undergone careful, period-appropriate restoration due to previous damage. The seat cushions remain original, with African fibre padding and spring support, and the upholstery of the fixed backrest is entirely original, showing only slight authentic wear.
