Rare Italian Gilded Mirror - 18th Century - Mercury Mirror. Sublime Italian mirror from the 18th century, richly carved and gilded with gold leaf. This character piece embodies the elegance of Italian Baroque with its deeply worked scroll and acanthus leaf motifs. Highlights of this piece: * Hand-carved work typical of the 18th century. The back shows traces of the tool and period assembly. * Mercury Mirror: The original mirror is hand-cut. Its mercury backing shows natural wear (partially removed in places), giving it an undeniable soul and charm, ensuring its antiquity. * Original gold leaf gilding. Although it is in its original state, it has already undergone a cleaning of the mirror, but a light cleaning will restore its shine and deep reflections. Note: just a cleaning with a damp brush and water. * Dimensions: A tall and majestic format (78 cm high) ideal for accentuating a wall between two windows or above a console. Condition: Good state of preservation for a piece of this age. Some wear on the mirror backing (see photos), which attests to its historical authenticity.
