Pair of French corner chairs from the 1950s, made of turned beech. These seats reflect the revival, after the Second World War, of the so-called "ball" models, inspired by the Louis XIII tradition of the 17th century, reinterpreted in a neo-rustic and convivial spirit. In line with the artisanal productions of the time, they combine beaded uprights, turned crosspieces, and woven straw seats, merging sturdiness and comfort. Their corner design allows them to be placed along a wall, on either side of a fireplace, or brought together to create a pleasant tête-à-tête. Fully sanded, they can be left raw for a more contemporary effect or directly varnished as desired. With careful turning and dense straw work, these chairs form a decorative and functional set, perfect for an entrance, a living room, or an elegant country house. The two chairs are identical. Seat height 37cm.
