A pair of English candle holders in brown ceramic. Circa 2003, designed by Sir Terence Conran of Habitat for Royal Doulton. Contemporary and utilitarian with simple turned stems and round bases, finished in a brown glaze. Marked underneath Habitat England Doulton. Sir Terence Conran (1931-2020) was a decorated designer, restaurateur, and businessman; knighted in 1983, he founded the Design Museum in London in 1989, received the Prince of Wales Medal for Artistic Philanthropy, an honorary doctorate in science from Southbank University, the Order of Companions of Honour in the Queen's honours list, and was awarded the medal for lifetime achievement at the London Design Festival.
