Brown Ceramic Pitcher or Vase by Andersson & Johansson, Höganäs, Sweden, 1920s

This rare Swedish folk art stoneware pitcher or vase was crafted by Andersson & Johansson for Höganäs in Sweden during the 1920s. It features a striking brown body with cream-white decoration and a strong modernist shape, giving it a dynamic and sculptural appearance. The vase is stamped 'AJ Höganäs' underneath, a mark used between 1920-1958. Designed by John Andersson, who became artistic director in 1924, this piece reflects his distinct personal style and is represented in the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and Helsingborg's museum.
