This coffee table is typical of the 70s with its shiny formica top with geometric patterns, golden strapping and tapered legs. On the feet, metal tips are embedded, the skate at the end of which can rotate, to compensate for the irregularities of the ground. It is in good structural condition, still solid, but with its long length, its 4 thin feet and the fact that it is a cheap piece of furniture, we can not expect the solidity of solid wood, so it will not be necessary to sit on it for example or put a pile of heavy books in the middle. This table does not hide its age: numerous scratches but not excessively visible on the tray (one of the photos is deliberately overexposed so that these scratches are visible, but in reality, they are less so, but visible anyway!). The tray also presents about fifteen other brands, such as air bubbles under the transparent plastic layer. The strapping took off about ten cm, I glued it back together, it also has spots and is probably less golden than originally. Compressed wood (a component of formica) has the unfortunate tendency to crumble with age, so even if this was not the case here, I preferred to pass a layer of wood glue all around the underside to allow it to withstand many more years. The feet are screwed on metal wedges, one had surface corrosion that I sanded and I passed a little rustproof. The varnished turned wooden legs has some marks. And one of the metal pads is damaged (see photo), but this does not cause any particular problem. The table is 51 cm high, the top measures 95 cm by 50 cm. It weighs about 7 or 8 kg.
