Service trolley in marquetry from Sorente, Italy – 1960

In a bright azure blue, this rare drop-leaf serving trolley, crafted in Italian marquetry in the 1960s, embodies with flair the artisanal elegance and decorative refinement characteristic of period furniture. Its finely worked painted wooden structure is enhanced by delicate floral marquetry and instruments, a subtle homage to the decorative tradition of the Italian Renaissance. The discreet and ingenious side leaves allow for an expanded serving surface as needed, while preserving the harmony of the design. The rear spoked wheels and front castors in gilded metal, combined with a turned wooden handle also adorned with gilded metal, facilitate its movement while maintaining its noble appearance. It bears the stamp "Miss Bellevue, Meta di Sorrento, Made in Italy," a testament to its Neapolitan origin and regional craftsmanship.
