Art Deco Style Geometric Blue Glass Bowl (By Scailmont)

Period: ca. 1920-1940 a lovely blue glass bowl with an unmistakable art deco look. The geometric design of this bowl with its raised tapered rectangles in clear glass in contrast to the matte bottom makes it a special piece. The three feet add to the uniqueness. This is pressed glass. The bottom is marked 'fait en belgique'. This mark is almost always attributed to scailmont, but there is no real evidence that this company used this mark. The scailmont glassworks was established in 1901 in manage, belgium. Its heyday was in the art deco period of the 1920s and 1930s. Condition: good. No damage. Dimensions: 9 cm high, 25 cm diameter.
