This set of four Model 9513 dining chairs was designed in 1972 by Tom Robertson for the British furniture manufacturer A.H. McIntosh & Co. The chairs are distinguished by their minimalist form inspired by Japanese design, combined with the soft, organic lines characteristic of 1970s furniture design. The slender frames are crafted from teak wood. Particular attention is drawn to the gently curved top rails and sculpted backrest elements with rounded edges, which give the chairs a sense of visual lightness and elegant proportions. The set has undergone comprehensive woodworking and upholstery restoration. The wooden elements were stripped of the old coating and finished with high-quality Danish oil, which protects the surface while enhancing the natural grain of the teak. The upholstery interiors have been replaced, and the seats have been reupholstered in a high-quality black fabric, which complements the rich tones of the wood and emphasizes the minimalist character of the design.
