Tea cabinet (chadansu) in veneer wood on the façade, warm color veined with black. The studs and top in solid (walnut?) shade, dark purple / brown hue. Two small bevel side shelves, connected by a piece of work branch. (poetic allusion to this wood species always present in the tea ceremony). Straight shelf with sliding panels trimmed with silk. Two large sliding glass doors. In the upper part shelf with two small sliding glass doors. In the lower part two drawers, surmounted on the left by a compartment with sliding panels, and gate on the right. Handles evoking drapes and lotus flowers. The whole, sober, mixes elegance and geometric combinations art deco. The furniture is fully studded. Around 1910-30 - taisho period or early showa. Centenary, this piece of furniture therefore has wear, shocks - small scratches. Shock to a slide upper part, the low gate was glued back, scratched. The left pillar has a horizontal stripe, and the right has many pinholes. On the plateau old halos and stain. Oxidation of eyelets on silk-trimmed doors. There is a heart-shaped stamp (hanko) under the base, this furniture was to be a wedding gift. Its stripped-down style suggests that it is a piece of furniture intended for the japanese domestic market. This piece of furniture is functional and usable. Feel free to ask questions.
