Mint green bubbled glass photophore – Biot glassware

Superb blown glass lantern, signed by the Verrerie de Biot. Its elegant, slightly curved shape rests on a stable pedestal, giving it a beautiful decorative presence even when unlit. The mint green hue softly captures light and reveals the depth of the artisanal glass. The irregular and generous bubbles create a lively and organic play of transparency, typical of Biot productions. Signed BIOT (engraving under the base - see photo): artisanal blown glass manufacture in the Alpes-Maritimes, founded by Eloi Monod in 1956, renowned for perfecting the "bubbled glass" technique, which has become emblematic of Provençal glassmaking expertise and sought after worldwide. In excellent vintage condition, marked Biot by engraving under the base, with a capital P also engraved under the base (function, addition?). Height 24.5 cm, diameter at the opening 12.5 cm, diameter at the widest point 12.5 cm, base diameter 10 cm, depth from the candle holder to the edge 17 cm. The poetry of the artisanal gesture, a timeless piece that naturally finds its place in an elegant interior. An ideal piece for a luminous wabi-sabi atmosphere.
