Small desk table in rosewood and rosewood marquetry, Louis XVI style – early 20th century.

Table-desk in Louis XVI style, made of rosewood and mahogany marquetry. The top features a stunning rosewood veneer arranged in butterfly wings, framed by a stained wood fillet and an edge in mahogany, highlighting the finesse of the craftsmanship. Two side pull-outs extend, providing an enlarged work surface while maintaining the aesthetic balance of the whole. The apron is equipped with a large drawer whose rosewood marquetry front is adorned with a finely chased bronze lock entry, accompanied by its ornate key and a functional lock. The table rests on four tapered legs, typical of the Louis XVI style, enhanced at the top with a gilded collar and finished with elegant sabot feet, adding an extra touch of refinement. A refined piece, combining classic grace and discreet functionality, ideal for bringing a note of timeless elegance to any interior. Period: early 20th century.
