After settling in France in 1925, Kijno pursued his passion for art, also studying philosophy and later attending the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris. It was there that he encountered surrealism and abstract expressionism, but quickly developed his own distinctive style, characterized by a dynamic brushstroke, vivid colors, and a deep exploration of gesture and movement.
