Niderviller flame model plate set

Set of 5 vintage Niderviller plates – “Flamme” model – 1950s. Their slightly oval shape, unusual for dinner plates, reinforces their vintage character and makes them true collector's pieces with a fifties spirit. The stylized arabesques in brick red, orange and olive green are enhanced with fine black lines evoking the momentum of the hand-painted gesture, all on a magnificent ivory background. The Niderviller earthenware factory, founded in the 18th century in Lorraine, is one of the oldest in France still in operation. Known for its quality pieces and bold decorations, it has distinguished itself as much by its classic production as by its modernist motifs from the 1950s and 1960s, which are now highly sought after. Stamped Niderviller Good general condition, minimal signs of use. One plate has a chip under the bottom on one edge and another has a slight chip on the top on one edge.
