Turkish handwoven Kilim (Anatolia), from the 1960s-1980s, (flat weave, no knots), pure wool, almost square 98 X 96 cm (110 cm including fringes). Flat weave with slits, wool. Field with large geometric hexagons in red, indigo blue, ivory, and green, borders with traditional stepped patterns (elibelinde). A tribal kilim full of character, in good condition, bright colours, a graphic and decorative piece (for floor, wall, or tabletop). Its six hexagonal medallions in red, navy blue, and green evoke Turkmen nomadic tradition, framed by ram's horn motifs symbolising strength and fertility. A small metal seal (control/export stamp) still present in the corner, typical of Turkish kilims from the 60s-80s. To be collected in Saint Nom La Bretèche or Versailles. The hexagonal medallion "göl" originally represents a Turkmen motif depicting a lake/oasis or a tribal crest — a symbol of belonging to a clan. The stepped patterns of the borders (elibelinde or derived shapes): "hands on hips, " symbolise fertility, womanhood, and motherhood. The tree/arrow shapes inside the hexagons represent the tree of life, growth, and continuity. The central diamonds in the borders, in the "eye" motif (gözlük), serve as protection against the evil eye. The sawtooth hooks ("koçboynuzu" / ram's horn) represent fertility, strength, and masculine protection. The colour red evokes vitality and protection, blue spirituality/infinity, ivory purity, and green nature.
