Exceptional art nouveau ceramic vase by jan willem mijnlieff, founder and master ceramist of fayence- en tegelfabriek holland, the iconic utrecht factory active between 1893 and 1920. Its design features herons in full flight over a beautiful lake full of flowers. J.w. Mijnlieff, is one of the great dutch ceramists of glazed earthenware and his influence on dutch decorative ceramics led his works to the world's great collections such as the metropolitan museum of art, reflecting his skill and contribution to the art nouveau movement in the netherlands. In this beautiful piece, mijnlieff captured the essence of nature with fluid brushstrokes and great depth on blue tones. The base of the vase is marked "holland utrecht". A collector's work that unites history, art and craftsmanship.
