Carl Fagerlund, Glass and Brass Pendant Fagerhult/Orrefors, Scandinavian Modern

Rare pendant light with a brass base and glass by Orrefors. Designed by Carl Fagerlund for Fagerhult, Sweden, mid-1900s. Measurements: Two are available, height 55 and 110 cm. Some minor signs of age and wear. Carl Fagerlund designed a larger, rounder version of this pendant light for General Motors HQ. The glass is made by Orrefors, a company founded in 1898 in Småland, which manufactured crystal and art glass until 2013. Many of Sweden's most well-known designers have worked for the company. Carl Fagerlund (1915-2011) worked for Orrefors from 1946 to 1980, and many of his creations are now considered classics.
