Designer Eero Saarinen (1910-1961) Brand Knoll International. Era 1950’s. Producet 1970`s. Material aluminium, motticino marble. High 52 cm. Width 50 cm. Depth 50 cm. Condition good original. Bibliographie Knoll au Louvre, Catalog of the Exibition held at Pavillon de Marsan, Musee des Arts Decoratifs 107, rue de Rivoli, Paris, January 12 to March 12, 1972. An early design classic – the Tulip side table, designed by one of the most renowned designers and architects, Eero Saarinen (1910–1961). The Tulip Table was designed around 1955–1957. The version offered here is, in our opinion, a production from the late 1960s to early 1970s. The tabletop is made of Botticino marble. Typically, the marble tops were made of Arabescato or Carrara marble, so it can be assumed that this is a special edition or limited production. The polyester resin coating of the tabletop has developed a yellowish tone over the years, which is a clear indicator of age and typical for a table of this period. The coating is fully intact and shows no signs of flaking or cracking. The table is marked on the underside with “Knoll International 160-1-3”, additionally bears an old “Knoll” sticker on the base, and a Knoll International label under the tabletop.
