Pernilla armchair. Steam-bent birch and beech wood frame in the style of alvar aalto's furniture. Canvas stretched over the frame and fitted with a new complete set of black leather cushions. Vintage edition armchair from the 1970s-80s, in very good condition. Some signs of wear on the canvas and frame. The frame bears the maker's mark "dux" and the designer's name mathsson. In 1944, mathsson created the first armchair in what would later be called the pernilla chair range. The first chairs were produced by karl mathsson ab in värnamo, sweden, the father of bruno mathsson. In the 1950s, mathsson moved away from furniture to focus on architecture. However, in the 1960s, he returned to furniture, collaborating with the swedish manufacturer dux, who wanted to reissue the pernilla range. Seat height approximately 35cm.
