Table lamp

Table lamp base... Rare and original. CREATED by the VENDÉEN POTTERY of NESMY for a purpose other than a lamp... This alternative function of the lamp base comes from secondary imagination: in reality, it is a replica of what the washerwomen placed in the centre of the wash tub before adding laundry and detergent! The hot water would boil and rise to sprinkle the laundry to be washed through the holes distributed along the terracotta column... This object has a barely visible chip of 3.5 cm if placed facing the opposite side, on the rim of the glazed base... but it does not affect its sturdiness... nor its originality! It can also be adapted for a seaside setting: it would then resemble a lighthouse... The lamp is electrified with a current screw socket for a lampshade or special lamp. It has a good length of electrical cord with a switch. Its colour is a slightly pinkish beige. A lampshade made of natural materials like straw, rope, etc., would suit it perfectly! Just as well as any other. The originality lies in its design!
