An iconic set of Tatra chairs produced by Tatra Furniture in Pravenec, Czechoslovakia, during the 1960s and designed by Antonín Šuman. This distinctive set has been completely restored with great care, balancing authenticity with a refined, contemporary finish. The solid wood bases are finished in a darker stain, creating an elegant contrast with the backrests, which have been newly veneered in oak after the original veneers were found to be in very poor condition. The new veneers are finished in a light walnut-toned stain, highlighting the natural grain and delivering a sleek, sophisticated appearance. The seats have been reupholstered in new gray fabric, offering comfort and a neutral tone that allows the sculptural form of the chairs to stand out while remaining easy to integrate into a wide range of interiors. Thoughtfully restored and visually striking, this one-of-a-kind set represents a refined example of Central European mid-century design. Seat height 44cm.
