Antique folding garden table with wooden slats and iron – Central Europe, around 1950

Antique folding garden table with a slatted wooden top and green-painted iron structure. It comes from Central Europe and can be dated around 1950. Folding tables with slats and iron are typical furniture in the gardens and breweries of Central Europe: left out in the weather, folded away in one motion, and stored flat in winter. The top consists of wooden slats separated by gaps, fixed to the frame by crossbars. The green-painted iron structure folds under the top and ends with tipped feet. The wood has taken on a golden tone over the years and shows its grain in the open air. In a garden or on a terrace, it serves as a dining table for four.
