Glazed earthenware pitcher signed HR with a design of stylised birds.

Glazed earthenware jug with hand-painted decoration of stylised birds among foliage rhythmically adorned with berries and flowers. Its bulging shape, wide flared neck, and deep caramel brown glaze give it a warm and authentic presence. A lovely detail is the dark chocolate hue on the rim and part of the handle. The decoration unfolds on the belly in a very graphic style, characteristic of French artisanal productions from the mid-20th century. The painted signature "HR" appears within the decoration. Despite the absence of a workshop mark on the base, the quality of the turning, glazing, and decoration attests to a genuine artisanal craft. In beautiful vintage condition, with a fine network of glaze crazing due to age (see photos). Height 15 cm, widest diameter 14 cm, neck diameter 12.5 cm, length from spout to handle 18 cm, base diameter 10 cm. Estimated capacity 1.2 l. A piece that adds a touch of refined countryside charm.
