Extraordinary wastepaper basket in riveted horsehide, an old bucket that was found filled with sand at the edge of the stage of theaters at the beginning of the 20th century in case of fire. In the 60s, the maison hermès created a wastepaper basket in thick and colored leathers according to this famous theater bucket whose existence had been forgotten. A small anchor engraved on the outside of the bottom attests to the ownership of the firefighters. But prettier than all, the handwritten dedication "to the friend of love always" is intended for pierre blanchar, a very famous actor of the time. Poetic, with a formidable patina, a fabulous history and presence. Height: 30cm, top diameter 27cm, bottom diameter 18cm. Irresistible.
