Pair of Scandinavian style stools by Vyčítal and Sedláček, Czechoslovakia, 1960s

Pair of mid-century footrests/stools from the 1960s. These pieces of furniture were designed by Karel Vyčítal and Miloš Sedláček for Dřevotvar Jablonné nad Orlicí in former Czechoslovakia. Miloš Sedláček and Karel Vyčítal were leading post-war Czechoslovak architects who worked for the Czechoslovak firm Dřevotvar Jablonné nad Orlicí. Their work is clearly inspired by post-war Scandinavian design, which they not only drew from but also sought to modify in various ways. This piece is made of beech wood and high-quality fabric.
