Graphical, functional, and collectible, this desk lamp is the Lucifer model, designed in 1975 by the Swedish designer duo Tom Ahlström and Hans Ehrich for A&E Design, published by Fagerhults Sweden. Entirely made of bright red moulded plastic, it consists of two spring-loaded articulated arms, similar to an architect's lamp. It rotates, tilts, and lowers with precision. Its cylindrical head houses a fluorescent tube, all resting on a weighted black base. The intense red colour and impeccable mechanics make it one of the most recognisable objects of Scandinavian design from the 1970s. Tom Ahlström and Hans Ehrich, known as A&E Design, are two major figures in Swedish industrial design. Their collaboration with Fagerhults has produced pieces that are now reference points in the field of vintage Scandinavian and Space Age design.
