Large ancient sculpture – Reclining Greyhound after P.J. Mêne – edition

Superb ancient sculpture representing a reclining greyhound, based on the work of animal sculptor Pierre-Jules Mêne (1810–1879). This piece bears the inscription "IMP. V.E. CAPORALE", indicating an old edition likely produced between 1900 and 1930. Made of patinated bronze plaster, it showcases a magnificent rendering of the fur and volumes, typical of the 19th-century French animal school. The dark patina, slightly worn in places, attests to its age and adds to the charm of the piece. Of large dimensions (72 cm long), it immediately attracts the eye and fits well in both classic and eclectic interiors.
