The shade is executed in fiberglass-reinforced resin, creating a beautiful warm glow while revealing its distinctive organic fibre structure when illuminated. A particularly rare example, as these shades are often found with cracks, chips or other damage. This lamp retains its original shade in remarkably well-preserved condition. The wall mount shows some minor paint traces and a small area of lacquer loss, consistent with age and use. An elegant and atmospheric design by one of the most influential figures in dutch post-war lighting design.
