Antique tea table. The antique Chinese tea table is much more than just a piece of furniture: it is the heart of the hospitality ritual. The base of the legs resembles a horse's hoof, giving the piece a sense of stability and strength. These tables are designed without any nails or screws. They use complex mortise and tenon joints, a millennia-old woodworking technique that allows the wood to "breathe" without ever becoming fragile. The tabletop is framed with a bevelled edge to catch any potential water droplets during the tea ceremony.
