Oil on ancient canvas depicting a flower marketer (carns), probably late 19th century. Somewhat naïve in its original design, a popular subject and a folkloric charm, this painting has been found in a former breton manor house. It seems that the canvas was initially larger and that it was cut and then refixed on a wooden frame. The canvas is in its very old juice, in medium condition: wear, sinking, restorations... The photos try to make the best of its condition, including the last one for which the canvas was placed in backlight to show the general state through transparency. Once hung on the wall the defects are less visible. This endearing subject would fit very well in a bohemian accumulation, bringing its little poetic touch.
