Description
A ceramic cup and saucer, decorated in field with a geometric frieze, by Marius et Huguette Bessone in vallauris. Huguette, whose training is unknown, collaborated with her husband, Marius Bessone (1929-2001) in their workshop opened in Vallauris in 1954. Several techniques were experimented with by these two ceramists, including that of the field, with abstract motifs. This cup and its saucer, which can be dated from the 1960s-1970s, have several gins. They are signed under the base "bessone, handmade, vallauris".
