Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 46 cm X 61 cm. Casino de trouville 1967. Workshop stamp on the canvas on the back. Inscription on the back at the top of the middle cross: "painted in trouville". Inscription on the edge of the canvas on the right side of the upper border: "casino de trouville september 1967 – room n°310 – hotel bellevue". Mary elisabeth maud gerard. (sydenham- england 22/01/1915 – brussels 02/04/2013) Belgian painter. She studied at the henriette bosché workshop in 1931, entered the royal academy of fine arts in brussels in 1931. Maud gérard studied painting with carte anto from 1935 to 1937 and obtained a scholarship to study painting in paris from 1936-1937. Winner of the annual painting competition of the academy of fine arts in brussels in 1937, she studied with isidore opsomer at the antwerp institute of painting. She was awarded the prix de rome in 1941 and stayed at the villa medici. Exhibition at the galerie de la licorne in brussels in 1942, at the palais des beaux-arts in brussels in 1948, at the galerie breughel in brussels in 1952 and 1955. Has made numerous trips to europe, africa, new york, washington and south america. June 2015: the musée d'art moderne de la ville de paris thanks to the generosity of its society of friends acquires one of his works.
