Vallauris table service — 12 knife rests + 3 small bowls, glazed ceramic

Charming complete table service signed Vallauris, in dark green majolica ceramic, with hand-painted fruit decorations — strawberries, oranges, pears, cherries, lemons. A rare set to find complete, in its original condition. What the lot includes: 12 green ceramic knife rests, each adorned with a different hand-painted fruit, in their original presentation box (green faux-crocodile, gold clasps, satin interior) 1 large bowl / dish (Ø 20 cm) with concentric fluting, featuring three relief fruit motifs around the edge. 2 small bowls (Ø 12 cm), with the same motifs, matching. Origin and manufacture: Vallauris, a pottery village in the South of France, has been known since the 17th century for its ceramic tradition influenced by Italian potters from Genoa. These pieces are typical of the artisanal Vallauris production from the 1950s–1960s: deep green glaze on terracotta, polychrome enamel decorations hand-painted. Each piece is slightly unique, true to artisanal work. Condition: Very good overall condition for pieces of this age. The 12 knife rests are in perfect condition, with no chips or cracks. The two small bowls are also in excellent condition. The large bowl (Ø 20 cm) has a fine hairline crack, stable and without loss — visible upon inspection but without impact on its integrity or decorative use. The original box shows a natural patina consistent with its age. Sold as is. Dimensions: Knife rests: L. 8 cm × W. 1.5 cm × H. 1.5 cm. Large bowl: Ø 20 cm, H. 2 cm. Small bowls: Ø 12 cm, H. 2 cm.
