Sometimes a table feels more like an object than a piece of furniture. This design by Metaform is a beautiful example. The KW1, designed by Hank Kwint in the 1980s, plays with lines, planes, and space. Two slender L-shaped metal profiles intersect like a graphic drawing in the air. The frame subtly sinks into a massive block leg, making the whole almost seem to float. The central leg is made of wood and covered with matte black formica. Sleek, calm, and perfectly balanced with the black powder-coated steel. On top lies the original heavy glass plate, 2 cm thick, with a beveled edge. The clear glass keeps the sculptural base always visible. From every angle, you see a new interplay of lines. Thanks to its minimalist character, this table combines effortlessly. From a Memphis interior to a calm modern living room. Present without dominating. In our workshop, we have carefully cleaned and treated the metal frame with metal wax. The leg is stable and neat, the glass shows light, appropriate signs of use. The table is ready for immediate use. A strong piece of Dutch design. Functional, graphic, and timeless.
