Rare 1st model of rowac industrial stool chair of the 1920s with backrest. Metal structure, seat and profiled backrest in oak. Very comfortable. Engraved by the manufacturer: rowac. Set fully restored in very good condition with a beautiful patina. Dimensions: h. 90 cm / d. 40 cm / l. 40 cm. Seat: h. 55 cm / d. 35 cm. The first rowac stool with three iron feet and a round wooden seat, was designed in 1905. From the german foundry in the city of chemnitz, saxony, founded in 1888 by robert wagner. These stools equipped the bauhaus school in dessau, as well as the german confederation of trade unions in 1923 and many other companies. These avant-garde stools of the werkbund inspired enormously france and industrial design, from the time of the revolutionary peter behrens whose students included the corbusier, w.gropius and l. Mies van der rohe.
