Antique natural coral mounted on turned wooden base, 22 cm

Antique specimen of natural coral, probably of the acropora type, with cream and off-white hues, firmly mounted on a patinated turned wooden base, with a brass stem. This coral bears witness to a period naturalist decorative style, typical of curiosity cabinets of the 19th and early 20th centuries. The wooden base, also antique, has a beautiful patina and traces of use which reinforce the authenticity of the whole. The coral is in excellent condition, well preserved, with a dense and precise relief, without visible breakage. The whole measures approximately 22 cm high and 17 cm wide.
