This small desk in apple and cherry wood, from the Louis XV period, charms with the warm harmony of its fruit woods and the elegance of its silhouette. It features two drawers on the front, each adorned with a delicately chiselled, gilded bronze leaf motif, and equipped with a functional lock accompanied by its key. The lower rail, cut and shaped, gracefully initiates the curved line of the legs, whose gentle arch gives the whole piece a lively and refined appearance. The top is covered in black leather, framed by a gilded vignette and accompanied by a cold vignette, offering a noble contrast to the wood's hue. The moulded edge, crafted in an inverted quarter round, completes this charming piece, a testament to an 18th century where the finesse of proportions and the softness of forms united to create items that were both useful and delicately poetic. Period: 18th century. Excellent condition after restoration in our cabinetmaking workshop. Waxed finish.
