This pendant lamp is one of those rare objects that is genuinely transformed by light. By day, it is a beautifully crafted cylinder of pine — vertical slats joined to form a drum shade, each slat carved with a repeating pattern of circles connected by a central stem, like a string of beads. The warm grain of the wood, the tactile depth of the carved circles, and the patterned fabric lining visible through the open base give it the feeling of something carefully considered and hand-made.Switch it on and it becomes something else entirely. The light passes through the carved grooves and rings, tracing the pattern in warm gold across the ceiling and walls, turning the whole shade into a glowing lantern. The effect is quite breathtaking. This type of pine pendant, with its carved geometric motif and fabric-lined interior, is characteristic of Scandinavian craft production of the 1960s and 70s — a period when natural materials and bold graphic forms were brought together in everyday objects with real skill and care.Condition is superb. The pine is complete and undamaged — every carved circle intact, no cracks, chips or missing elements. The interior fabric lining is also in excellent condition. Fully functional. E27 bulb.
